Japanese soprano Miho Sakoda has an accurate technique and profound insights into score reading, with a vast repertoire ranging from Baroque to verismo. She made her stunning debut at the Fujiwara Opera of the Japan Opera Foundation in the title role of Madama Butterfly in 2019. Since then, she has developed her career as an operatic soprano, performing a wide range of repertoire from Mozart and Donizetti to Puccini and verismo.

Her recent highlights include Anna in Puccini’s Le Villi in Japan, Micaëla in Carmen at the Hyogo Performing Arts Center, and the title role in Madama Butterfly with Fort Worth Opera in 2026. In 2025, she was awarded the Thomas Schippers Young Talent Award (Premio internazionale Thomas Schippers) in Spoleto, Italy. Her performance in Fort Worth received enthusiastic critical acclaim, with Scott Cantrell of The Dallas Morning News praising Sakoda’s Butterfly for her “apparently limitless expressivity.”

She made her American debut in 2023 at the Savannah Voice Festival, singing the title role in Madama Butterfly. She subsequently appeared as Cio-Cio-San with Opera in Williamsburg in 2025, marking her debut in the city.

Other recent roles include the title role in Tosca at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, the title role in Donizetti’s Pia de’ Tolomei with the Fujiwara Opera, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni at Tokyo Opera NEXT, and the role of Prinsess Yuzuki in the world premiere of Mizuchi at Biwako Hall. Her repertoire also includes Countess Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, Mimì in La Bohème, Marguerite in Faust, Riccardo in Il trionfo dell’onore by A. Scarlatti, Guardian Angel in Rappresentatione di Anima e Corpo by E. de Cavalieri, Flora in Chopin by G. Orefice, and Lucieta in Il Campiello by E. Wolf-Ferrari.

In concert, she has appeared as a soloist at major venues in Tokyo, including Suntory Hall, and has performed Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2026, she performed as a soloist in Franz Schmidt’s Das Buch mit sieben Siegeln with the NHK Symphony Orchestra at NHK Hall under the baton of Fabio Luisi. Her concert repertoire also includes Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, Fauré’s Requiem, and Mozart’s Mass in C major.

Sakoda received her Bachelor of Music from the Tokyo University of the Arts. She completed the advanced course at the Suntory Hall Opera Academy under Executive Faculty member Giuseppe Sabbatini in 2017. She was awarded Second Prize in the vocal section of the 13th Tokyo Music Competition and was a finalist in the vocal categories of the 86th Music Competition of Japan and the 50th Japan-Italy Vocal Concorso.

日本人ソプラノ歌手の迫田美帆は、確かな技術と深い読譜力を持ち、バロックからヴェリズモまで幅広いレパートリーを誇る。2019年、日本オペラ振興会・藤原歌劇団にて『蝶々夫人』のタイトルロールで鮮烈なデビューを飾る。以降、実力派ソプラノとしてキャリアを築き、モーツァルトやドニゼッティからプッチーニ、ヴェリズモ・オペラに至るまで多岐にわたる演目に出演している。

近年の主な活動としては、2026年のフォートワース・オペラでの『蝶々夫人』タイトルロール、兵庫県立芸術文化センターでの『カルメン』ミカエラ役、藤原歌劇団でのプッチーニ『妖精ヴィッリ』のアンナ役などがある。2025年にはイタリアのスポレートにて、トーマス・シッパーズ国際若手音楽家賞を受賞。フォートワースでの公演は批評家から熱狂的な賛辞を受け、スコット・カントレル氏は『ダラス・モーニング・ニュース』紙において、迫田の演じた蝶々夫人を「どこまでも果てしない表現力」と絶賛した。

アメリカ・デビューは2023年のサバンナ・ヴォイス・フェスティバルでの『蝶々夫人』タイトルロールである。その後、2025年にはオペラ・イン・ウィリアムズバーグにて同役で出演し、同市へのデビューも果たした。

コンサートにおいては、サントリーホールをはじめとする都内の主要コンサートホールでソリストを務め、東京フィルハーモニー交響楽団とベートーヴェン交響曲第9番（第九）を共演。2026年にはNHKホールにて、ファビオ・ルイージ指揮のもとNHK交響楽団とフランツ・シュミット『7つの封印を有する書』のソリストを務めた。その他、ロッシーニ『小荘厳ミサ曲』、フォーレ『レクイエム』、モーツァルト『ハ長調ミサ曲』などのレパートリーを持つ。

東京藝術大学音楽学部卒業。2017年、サントリーホール オペラ・アカデミー アドバンスト・コース（エグゼクティブ・ファカルティ：ジュゼッペ・サッバティーニ）修了。第13回東京音楽コンクール声楽部門第2位。第86回日本音楽コンクール声楽部門、および第50回日伊声楽コンコルソでファイナリストに選出されている。
